Zamfara State House of Assembly Rejects President buhari No Flight Zone in Zamfara
The Zamfara state House of Assembly today rejected President Muhammadu buhari’s no-flight zone in Zamfara State. In a plenary session, today members of the state house of the assembly said the Federal Government cannot make such a declaration and as such reject it.
The members of the Zamfara state house of Assembly also reject the total ban on mining activities in the state. They said that the Federal government decision was taken wrongly and in haste. In a press statement signed by the Spokesperson of the House, Ja’afaru Mustapha Kaura, and the House wants the Federal Government to rescind the decisions to avoid further impoverishing the citizens.
In the same vain the lawmakers passed a vote of no confidence on the National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno over his ‘poor handling’ of security issues in the state. They are accusing the National Security Adviser of not properly handling the precarious security challenges in the country, especially the state which they say he has never visited.
President Muhammadu buhari on Tuesday 2nd of March 2021 after a closed-door Security Council meeting at the presidential villa, Abuja declared Zamfara state a no-fly-zone and also announced the ban on all mining activities in the Zamfara state to curb the rising insecurity in the area.
The President also ordered that the country’s defense and intelligence organization be on high alert to prevent the country from sliding into chaos.
