Idris Elba has defended Meghan Markle for “speaking out” after she said the Royal family had “silenced” her.
Elba, 48, was a guest at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding and also performed as a DJ at their reception.
Idris Elba was asked about Meghan’s remarks during her interview with Oprah Winfrey during a promotion for his new film, Concrete Cowboy, which will be released by Netflix.

In his response, Elba made it clear that he believed Meghan had been backed into a corner and had no choice but to speak up.
“I would say that everybody has to have their chance to speak up about how they feel,” he said.
“You can’t take away someone’s voice; that’s how we interact.”
