Wizkid, Burnaboy claims BET Awards to cement their places as African biggest Acts
Heavyweight Nigerian singers Ayo Balogun ‘Wizkid’ and Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu ‘Burnaboy’ continue to cement their place as the biggest artiste from Africa continent after both acts big went home with awards last night in the BET Awards.
Brown Skin Girl by Beyonce, Wizkid and Ivy Carter got the Bet Her Award for the year 2020.
Wizkid who featured in the song alongside the American song goddess was recognized for the hit song.
The Award means Ayo Balogun is now the highest Bet Award winner in Africa after winning the Best International Act twice before.
Wizkid won the Best International Act(Africa) in 2012 and 2017 respectively.
Also recognized is Burnaboy, who won the Bet International (Africa) for the second time.
Burnaboy is the first African to win the award back-to-back with his latest win after winning it in 2019.

Both Nigerian singers are arguably the biggest musician in Africa alongside Davido.
The trio of Wizkid, Burnaboy, and Davido is leading the charge by putting Afrobeat in world stage with worldwide recognition.
Another nominee in the Bet Award is young sensation Mavins act, Rema.
Rema also got nominated for Bet Award after back-to-back hits since last year after his breakthrough.
