As per the sources, ITV Journalist Gary Burgess has left the world on 02 January 2022, at the age of 46. He was suffering from testicular cancer. He also talked about his cancer after being diagnosed with it. He died peacefully in his sleep at his house in New Jersey. When his treatment started, the doctors found tumors in his lungs and they were inactive. In 1999, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and was treated for it in 2015 and 2016. He recorded his health condition in a popular blog. In November 2020, he revealed to his followers that he had only 6 to 12 months have left to live and then documented his cancer journey after getting the terminal diagnosis. His death is a huge loss to his family and the world of journalism. His family is going through a tough time.

Who was Gary Burgess?

Gary Burgess was a British broadcaster and journalist who was born on 13 November 1975 in Manchester, England. He was mainly notable in the Channel Islands. He was best known for making the record for the longest radio show at Blackpool’s Radio Wave, when he stayed on-air for 76 hours and raised funds for charity. In a final message, Garry wrote for ITV that reads, “I’ve had the best life. I’ve had the luckiest life.”

Gary started his career at Radio Wave in 1992 in Blackpool. In May 2011, he started working as a reporter at ITV channel TV in the Guernesey newsroom. Later, she moved to Jersey in March 2012. He was married to Allan in the year 2018, with whom he was in a long-term relationship. They become the first same-sex couple in Jersey. They had an unofficial marriage ceremony in March 2018.
