“What if I wanted to die?- Singer Tems goes on hunger strike in Uganda after being arrested and handcuffed (Video)
Nigerian Singer Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems is recently on an hunger strike after her arrest in Uganda.
The singer who was arrested alongside another singer Omah Lay was remanded in prison for holding a concert in Uganda while the country was on lockdown.
Omah Lay and Tems were both charged in Uganda with “negligently doing acts likely to spread infectious diseases”.
Following their arrest, a video is currently circulating on social media of Singer Tems refusing to eat and going on an hunger strike.
The singer who was taken to Kigo Prison in Uganda was seen having a conversation with a Female Ugandan Official. During the conversation, Tems claims she doesn’t want any food and had already gone 34 hours without any.
The Female Ugandan Official however claimed they cared about their body well being and tried to convince her to eat.
In response, singer Tems asked what if she wanted to die?. According to her, it is her body and is willing to go 48 more hours with no food.
