We won’t allow Lawan block Buhari’s sacking – Senator Fadahunsi

We won’t allow Lawan block Buhari’s sacking – Senator Fadahunsi, #wont #Lawan #block #Buharis #sacking #Senator #Fadahunsi Welcome to 50MIND S BLOG, This is the most recent breaking news and trending broadcast that we have for you today: :

Francis Fadahunsi, a senator from Osun East and vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs and Excise, claims that opposition parties in the National Assembly’s upper chamber have decided to remove Ahmad Lawan as president of the Senate if he attempts to obstruct the process of impeaching President General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) next month.

In a conversation with media on Wednesday in Abuja, Fadahunsi said that the majority of senators from all political parties had already voted against Buhari due to his administration’s failure to handle the nation’s deteriorating security situation.

He expressed skepticism on the President’s capacity to address the nation’s security issues in six weeks given that he was unable to do so for seven years.

We have been discussing and offering solutions to the nation’s security issues, but the Head (Senate President) is beholden to the Villa, he stated. All of our attempts to take the President to task with harsh measures have been thwarted by him.

Now that the nation is being decimated by terrorists with no government strategy to fight them, we have decided to strike while the iron is still hot rather than wasting our time working with the leadership of Ahmad Lawan. We’re not going to wait till we are all dead.

“We have now made the decision to withdraw from the ‘rubber stamp’ arrangement so that all of Nigeria will know that we have not supported the faltering economy, the accumulating massive debts, the falling naira, the widespread insecurity, and the unprecedented levels of corruption taking place in the polity.

“Unfortunately, our current leader (Lawan) previously led the opposition lawmakers and was exposing systemic flaws at the time. He now doesn’t want anyone to oppose Buhari’s administration, even though things are deteriorating rapidly. We are chosen by the people, so any leader who resists such a challenge in a democratic environment must likewise face challenge.

The impeachment proceedings would begin as soon as his colleagues’ current six-week yearly vacation ended on September 20, according to Fadahunsi.

“Those who supported Buhari in 2015 believed that as a former military leader, he could reduce the level of insecurity. Sadly, he was presiding over things getting worse, and he gave the impression that he was powerless. Because of this, we decided that we would impeach him if we returned on September 20 and saw that nothing had changed significantly.

“Anyone who claims that we won’t impeach Buhari will be impeached first. We will remove anyone who tries to prevent us from proceeding, even the Senate President. While those terrorizing the country are not being apprehended, Mr. President is finding it tough to fire his underperforming security chiefs. Everything was tense, therefore something radical had to be done, he said.

After Lawan stopped attempts to start an impeachment process against Buhari due to the nation’s security situation on Wednesday of last week, the senators from the Peoples Democratic Party left the red chamber during plenary.

Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu, the president’s media advisers, both denounced the opposition senators’ move in response to the development.

Adesina had stated, “Sadly, security is not something you subject to bluster. I think it (impeachment) was just bravado. When it comes to matters of life and death, you don’t start issuing frivolous ultimatums.

Shehu said that, “Senate President Ahmad Lawan’s reluctance on Wednesday to consider the foolish motion to impeach our President was entirely right and correct,” despite the performative and childish antics of those senators staging a walkout.
