Vladimir Putin, President of Russia has reaffirmed the serious of coronavirus in a TV interview on Thursday, December 17th.
Speaking on the interview, the Russian leader reiterated that people can see for themselves, what is going on, saying they can call it rumors all they like, until they get sick themselves.
President Vladimir Putin then went ahead to state that there are presently no plans whatsoever for a lockdown in Russia amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vladimir Putin also discussed his relationship with newly elected US President Joe Biden during a TV interview following his annual news conference on Thursday.
Putin was quick to recognise the fact that Biden is full of experience, and added that Russian government was already familiar with most of Biden’s likely administration members.
One would recall that Russia-US relations went to an all-time low after Moscow’s 2014 annexation of Ukraine’s Crimean Peninsula and also when Russia allegesly interfered in the 2016 US presidential election.
During the news conference, Vladimir Putin expressed his hope that Biden’s administration would move to extend the last remaining US-Russian arms control pact in the NewSTART treaty that is already set to reach expiration by early February, 2021.
