Video: Nigerians Sleeping in Dubai Parks following disengagement from work
Video of Nigerians sleeping in Dubai Parks, United Arab Emirates surfaces online today following the sack of the Nigerians at there various places of work in UAE.
The video was posted by one Ashleigh Stewart, a journalist with one of the popular news media in the country. Stewart is pleading with Nigerian Government and philanthropists to help in returning the more than 35 stranded Nigerians to their country where they can reunite with their families.
The company where the Nigerians were working stopped paying salaries with no enough money for rent or to take a flight back home due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The stranded Nigerians were once at the Nigerian Embassy in Dubai to seek help in their bid to return to Nigeria but after several attempts with no success, they left the embassy for the public park where they currently reside in.
The citizens are calling on President buhari led the Federal Government to help them with a flight to return home to their family.
Last week alone, not less than 70 stranded Nigerians were airlifted by the Federal Government back to Nigeria.
The Federal Government has embarked on the airlifting of Nigerians in foreign countries back home since the COVID-19 outbreak across the world.
This is the park and conditions they’re living in. No toilet block. No running water. And it’s peak summer in Dubai.
