Video: Four Days to Edo Guber, APC, Ize-Iyamu begins sharing of Distinct wrappers to eligible voters
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and loyalist of his Governorship candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the forthcoming September 19th guber election in Edo has resorted to indirect voters inducement by sharing new wrappers to female eligible voters that have voters card.
In a video circulating online, only those with voters card are given the wrapper as a form of identity and voters inducement ahead of the election.
The election in Edo State is between Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki defect from APC to seek re-election under PDP after falling out with some of the party chieftains within and outside the state including sacked APC national chairman Adams Oshiomole.
Godwin Obaseki defeated Ize-Iyamu in 2016 to replace Adams Oshiomole as the governor of the state and both men will now face-off again in four days time as Ize-Iyamu has also defected to APC.
Pastor Osagie-Ize-Iyamu moved to APC to pursue his ambition of governing the state after failing in his first attempt in 2016 under the PDP.
The September 19 election is already getting tense with United States of America and the United Kingdom threatening to ban any political with involvement in electoral violence from entering their country.
The Department of States of the United States of American revealed this week that Governors Yahaya Bello and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kogi and Kano state respectively and the Adams Oshiomole among others are banned from entering the United States.
You present your voters card, you are giving a distinct wrapper by members of @PastorIzeIyamu’s campaign
At best this is voter inducement. At worst, a plan to brand pro-APC voters on Election Day & prevent the non-aligned from voting, like we saw happen in Osun.
APC is a curse. pic.twitter.com/udRjD6A279
