Peoples Democratic Party bigwigs, Bukola Saraki and Atiku Abubakar react to the federal government pronouncement that it will ban microblogging and social networking platform, Twitter from operating in Nigeria.

The decision to suspend Twitter’s operation indefinitely in Nigeria was made public today following the removal of the President Muhammadu buhari’s abusive tweet and video on their platform.

” Hopefully, this isn’t my last tweet”, says Atiku Abubakar while reacting to the ban on Twitter by the federal government.

In the same vein, former senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki have this to say about the indefinite suspension on the microblogging platform.

“No sir! This should not be the response from the president of a nation with a vibrant youthful population for whom Twitter is part of their daily lives and a source of their income and livelihood.

This must be reviewed”, says Bukola Saraki.

The decision to ban the Twitter operation in Nigeria is an unpopular one that will infringe on the freedom of speech and existing freedom of information.
