The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has been given N24 billion by President Muhammadu Buhari to carry out a smart modular irrigation project. 

This information was made public by Professor Mohammed Sani Haruna, the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, on Friday following a private meeting with the President at the State House in Abuja. 

The head of NASENI informed State House reporters that he was in the Villa to advise the President on the organization’s activities and to deliver the financial report that Buhari had asked.

The 11th Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mustafa Adebayo Balogun, passed away on August 4, 2022, at the Redington Hospital in Lekki, Lagos State, following a brief illness, according to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, who revealed this on Friday.

Ahmadu Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa State, has reopened a technical skills acquisition center that had been closed for eight years. 

The center was built during the tenure of former governor Murtala Nyako and is situated in the Jibiro Girei Local Government Area of the state. 

Fintiri underlined the importance of the center in kindling the productive potential of the state’s youth through entrepreneurship training during the technical skills acquisition center’s inauguration on Thursday.

The governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged elected officials and other public figures to refrain from stifling the press since press freedom is crucial to a democracy. 

The governor made this request on Thursday in Lagos, during a session the Nigerian Guild of Editors organized with the theme “Journalism and digitalization: The importance of good corporate governance.” 

In order to entirely eradicate false and fake news, Sanwo-Olu remarked that his administration would keep up its solid corporate governance and self-regulation of the online environment.
