The first made in Nigeria COVID-19 Herbal cure has been developed.
According to the team of researchers who developed the COVID-19 herbal cure, all the herbs use in the development of the cure we’re source locally.
The Plateau state research committee on COVID-19 has claimed that it has become the first body to develop a COVID-19 herbal cure in the country.
While speaking on Friday, the chairman of the Plateau state COVID-19 research committee Mr. Noel Wannang, announced that “cure” has “proven to be safe” after initial trials.
He said the research team has come up with the first made in Nigeria COVID-19 herbal cure, making Plateau state the first state to develop a COVID-19 cure.
Mr. Noel stated that four different COVID-19 herbal cures were developed the COV PLA-1, COV PLA- 2, COV PLA -3 and PLATABOOST-N,” and undergoing trials.
During pre-clinical trials, the COVID-19 herbal cure reversed damage and restored lung function in infected animals including chicks, rats, guinea pigs, and cats.
Mr. Noel who spoke during a meeting with traditional rulers and local government chairmen on Friday said all the herbs used were all sourced from the state.
“All of the herbs used in making these drugs were sourced and got from the state, it is our hope that the drugs will be used internationally at the end of the research.
“We are done with phase one which is the safety aspect and it has proven to be safe. We will commence phase 2 on Monday, September 21, after which our patients will start benefiting from the drugs.”
There have not been any official announcement as regards to the newly developed COVID-19 herbal cure from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Across there world, more than 100 different COVID-19 drugs are currently undergoing trials.
