In response to the attack which took place on the U.S Capitol, Erdogan Condemns the attack in a statement released on Friday.
In his statement, he said, “We have seen that the Republicans are the same as what the Democrats were, and we see that it (storming of the Capitol Building) is a disgrace for Democracy.”
Erdogan also added that America and Its Media were silent on the July 15 coup attempt which occurred in Turkey.
His administration has been criticized heavily in the west so he took the opportunity to condemn the attack on the U.S Capitol by calling it a “disgrace to democracy”
Erdogan finished his statement by hoping that the inauguration will be done successfully on the 20th of January in line with Donald Trump’s statement.
What Happened in the U.S Capitol
On Wednesday as the U.S congress was in a session to certify Joe Biden’s win, the Angry mob who were Trump’s Supporters, were seen clashing with Police officers to gain entry into the Capitol.
The effort of the Police Officers to stop them went in vain and they were able to gain access into the building which led to emergency evacuation by the lawmakers.
The attack on the Capitol led to the death of a member of the Air force who was also part of those who were protesting violently. Also, a Police officer was reported dead after he was seriously attacked by Trump Supporters.
The Attack saw many World leaders expressing shock as Donald Trump was blamed for the violent attack on the Capitol.
Donald Trump’s refusal to concede to the election led to the attack which happened on Wednesday.
The attack on the Capitol saw many of Trump’s cabinets resigning as they call for the invocation of the 25th Amendment.
