Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun announced that the state government will be inviting specialists from Lagos State to treat the victims of the tanker explosion. Governor Dapo Abiodun made the pronouncement during his visit to the victims at the state hospital, Ijaye and Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba.

Not less than three people were burnt to death during the tanker explosion at Kuto axis of Abeokuta, Ogun State capital with vehicles and motorcycles burnt too.
The incident was a result of brake failure which led to a head-on collision with another vehicle on the road.
“Towards avoiding a recurrence of today’s fatal tanker fire that occurred in Abeokuta, tanker drivers will henceforth no longer use overhead bridges across Ogun State, with stringent penalties to be put in place by the State Ministry of Transportation,” says Dapo Abiodun.
Speaking further, Abiodun announced that his government will now ban articulated vehicles from using the overhead bridges in the state.
