Liverpool fans have demanded the removal of all their flags and banners in protest at the club owners FSG’s sign up to Super League this will be a powerful message. Liverpool fans will set the Kop bare for Saturday’s visit of Newcastle.
Manchester United Supporters
Manchester United supporters trust has urged the club to immediately withdraw from the proposed Super League. The supporters wrote to the club management.
“A “Super League” based on a closed shop of self-selected wealthy clubs goes against everything football and Manchester United should stand for.
“We urge everyone included in this proposal including Manchester United to immediately withdraw from this proposal.”
“The Arsenal supporters club have found it deplorable the announcement by Arsenal that they are breaking away to form a European Super League. This represents the death of everything that football should be about.
“As fans, we want to see Arsenal play in competitions based on sporting merit and competitive balance.
“Not surprisingly this action has been taken with no consultation or dialogue, continuing the silence and contempt that Kroenke has shown for Arsenal supporters since the day on.
Manchester City Official Supporters Club
Manchester City Supporters have also opposed the proposed European Super Leagues. In a statement, it wrote
“We are opposed to anything which creates a breakaway ‘European Super League. This proposed new competition has no sporting merit and would seem to be motivated by greed”
Football Commentators and Players have also spoken against the new proposed Super League.
If the Super League happens it will be closer to WWE than competitive football. No risk but a staged show. Not far off Kevin De Bruyne’s entrance music playing halfway through United vs City and him running out in a red shirt while Pep jumps around on the bench in pretend shock.
Kids grow up dreaming to win the World Cup and the Champions League – not any Super League. The enjoyment of big games is that they only happen once or twice a year, not every week. Hard to understand for all football fans out there…⚽💔 https://twitter.com/MesutOzil1088/status/1384100211815976960?s=19
