Nigerian international and German-born shot stopper, Maduka Okoye could be in line to set a new club record with the Hornets in the new season after completing his move to the club in the January winter transfer market but was immediately loaned back to Sparta Rotterdam.

The Super Eagles preferred number one choice of goalkeeper completed plying his trade with the Netherlands Eredivisie giant in the last campaign on a loan basis before linking up with his Watford teammates, in preparation for the next season where they will be working so very hard to make a return to the English football top-flight league having relegated to the second tier in the just concluded season.

Maduka Okoye in the concluded season was at the peak and an unsung hero for the Eredivisie giant where he played pivotal role to help the team escape relegation which made him to be celebrated before bidding the team farewell for his heroic performance.

Maduka Okoye despite helping Sparta Rotterdam escape relegation in Netherlands will now be plying his trade in the new campaign with relegated Watford team, having resumed full training with the Hornets and has been so intensified with his brilliant efforts.

The Nigerian star could now be in line to set a new record at Watford as he could be leading the team as the preferred number one choice in between the stick, which will make him the club’s youngest ever Number one goalkeeper in history at 22 years of age.
