Stop Open Grazing Ban Or Forget 2023 Presidency – Fulani Group Tells Southern Governors

The Gan Allah Fulani Development Association (GAFDAN), a pan-Fulani organization, has reacted to the Southern Governors Forum’s prohibition on open grazing. The governors’ resolution, according to the group, could compromise the south’s interests in 2023.

The Southern Governors, according to GAFDAN’s National Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, neglected to understand the consequences of their decision to outlaw open grazing in the South. He went on to say that if the governors want power to return to the South in 2023, they must end the region’s ban on open grazing.

He admitted that open grazing is no longer appropriate. Before outlawing it, though, states must give alternatives.

He also stated that the governors’ timeline for the prohibition on open grazing is unachievable. It will only result in chaos. Fulani herdsmen will not be able to quickly vacate the South if they do not have another option.

He came to the conclusion that the Fulani nation had the potential to garner 17 million votes in 2023. If the South wants to keep their votes, they must lift the ban on open grazing.

Saleh Alhassan, the National Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, argued that the southern governors’ decision to ban open grazing in their districts without giving alternatives was purely political.
