Sports: Former Arsenal attacker sets to play for German’s cricket side
Former Arsenal and Cologne attacker Lukas Podolski signs for German cricket side Cologne Haie after the club won a wager of 100,000 tickets sold as requested by Podolski for him to represent his boyhood club.
Lukas Podolski thanked the German cricket side fans and companies for hitting the 100,000 tickets purchase ahead of the season.
The world cup winner will now feature for Cologne Haie in the 2020/2021 Penny Del Season.
Podolski, who is currently signed to Antalyaspor football club in Turkey is yet to announce how his engagement with the Cologne Haie will be.
The 35-year-old Germany attacker is renowned for his explosives left-foot. Podolski is a well traveled footballer having played in Germany,England, Italy,Japan and Turkey.
Podolski also played for the Germany national team 130 times with 49 goals to his name. He is one of the most capped Germany players in history.
