The death of Nigeria musical icon Olarenwaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi popularly known by his stage name Sound Sultan has brought sadness to many Nigerians and Africa Alike.

The artist died in a US hospital on the 11th of July 2021, after a protracted illness battling cancer of the lungs. Sound Sultan the Bodmas crony was not just a talented artist who took the Nigerian music industry to new heights, he was also an activist, who through his song has continued to talk about the ills in society.

1. A dedicated Father and Husband.
Sound Sultan was a dedicated father and husband. He was one Nigerian artist who kept his family life out of the music business. Sultan is married to Rita Morah now Farida Fasasi. The marriage is happily blessed with three kids.

2. A dedicated Muslim.
Sound Sultan was a dedicated and disciplined Muslim who carefully observe the tents of Islam. He has contributed immensely to the development of the Islamic community in Satellite Town Lagos a place where he was born and bred.

Sound Sultan rarely misses observing Istikaf (the last 10 days of the months of Ramadan when Muslims are expected to stay in seclusion in the mosque to worship). This act greatly encourages Muslim youth in Satellite Town.

3. Philanthropist and Sport Developer
Sound sultan was a philanthropist to the latter. He contributed enormously to the development of youths in Satellite Town. He ensures that people who had the opportunity to meet him were impacted in one way or the other.

Sultan was a sport developer, he has organized and coordinated various sports activities in the Satellite Town community. From community marathons to football and basketball tourneys.

During the #Endsars protest when he was already feeling seek Sound Sultan did not only lend his voice to the movement, he joined the street protest in Amuwo Area of Lagos State.

Sound Sultan was not just an artist par excellence, he was an actor and stage play performer. He has acted in various movies, series, and stage plays.
