The fight by the Ambazonia separatist against the government of Cameroon is taking a new turn as the separatists are hell-bent to ensure that an independent Ambazonia state is created.
On Tuesday during a busy market day at the Likomba market in Tiko SWR, an Improvised Explosive Device (IDE) exploded in the broad daylight and the explosion was captured on camera by a passerby.

According to reports the “homemade bomb” which exploded in broad at the Likomba market in Tiko, SWR, was “planted by Ambazonians fighters, the explosive device was to compel the people to respect the lockdown”. Traders who were at the market had to escape for safety. But no one was injured in the explosion
Such minor explosions are common in Anglophone regions of the country where separatists have been fighting for an independent state called Ambazonia.
Since 2017, Cameroon’s mainly English-speaking Northwest and Southwest regions have been rocked by violence after separatists declared the independence of Ambazonia. Cameroon’s Anglophone region remains in the grip of a seemingly never-ending crisis.
