Sameer Sharma, well know Bollywood TV actor, was found dead in his Malad apartment late on Wednesday night. According to officials of Malad police, the actor died by suicide.
The 44-year-old is reported to have been staying at the first floor of Neha CHS building, Ahinsa Marg in Malad (west). However, on Wednesday night, a security guard found him dead and alerted the neighbors.
Investigation is still ongoing according to a senior inspector, George Fernandes. The Inspector claimed that they have registered a case of accidental death (ADR) and sent the remains of Sameer Sharma to a government hospital for autopsy.
This is not the first of such questionable deaths in the film and television industry this year 2020. In fact, several cases of suicide have been reported in the film and television industries, including Manmeet Grewal, Preksha Mehta, and Sushant Singh Rajput. Then one is moved to ask, What is really going on? Are these deaths being properly investigated at all? To even think that there was no suicide note or anything. Suicide is just too convenient an excuse. These killings must stop!
According to police, he had rented the apartment in February.
The actor had also appeared in the shows Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Jyoti, Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Du, and Left Right Left, among others. He is also listed as a cast member in films such as Hasee Toh Phasee and Ittefaq.
Colleagues of the late Sameer Sharma have continued to pour in their condolences. Most notably, by actors Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. Sameer’s last social media post, a picture of the sea, was shared on Instagram on July 29.
Sameer Sharma was best known for his role in Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. And we hope his death does not become yet another “suicide” story. RIP to him
