Ronaldinho, the Brazilian football legend, has broken his silence over the death of his mother.
His girlfriend, Miguelina Eloi Assis dos Santos, died of Covid-19 complications on Saturday, February 20, in Porto Alegre, Brazil. After having been infected with Coronavirus, she has been hospitalized since December 2020.
Ronaldinho sent a message via his social media account on Tuesday night, February 23, to thank fans and friends for their display of support following the news of his mother’s death.
In this tough moment, my family and I thank you all for the love and support we are getting. My mother was an inspiration to those who met her and will continue to exert her light forever in our lives, of power and joy. We will begin our journey with the encouragement she taught us. Thank you,’ he wrote in his post, followed by a photograph of his mother embracing him.
