The Brazillian, Barca and Milan playmaker was arrested along with his brother earlier in March 2020 in Paraguay, and have since then being held behind the bar.

The Legendary ex-Brazil international Ronaldinho was arrested in Paraguay after allegedly producing a false passport to enter the country to conduct business activities.

Prosecutors have stated that they were given the counterfeit documents when the 39-year-old Ronaldinho and his brother, Roberto Assis, landed in the capital, Asuncion.

Before his arrest, He was planning to take a flight back to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, later that week. According to the Ministry of Interior of Paraguay. Ronaldinho and his brother were initially detained in the Resort Yacht & Golf Club Paraguayo.

His Release From Detention

Ronaldinho was released earlier today after a Paraguayan judge Gustavo Amarilla handed down a suspended sentence of two years in prison for Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto de Assis Moreira, and granted their release. Ronaldinho and his brothers will also have to pay a fine of $200,000 between the two of them.

Ronaldinho will be able to return to Brazil immediately. Defense attorneys Tarek Tuma and Alcides Cáceres said their clients will establish residence in Rio de Janeiro.

Ronaldinho, a world champion with Brazil in 2002 and a former star of Barcelona, Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, among other clubs, turned 40 years old in Paraguay.
