Rapper Silento Arrested, Charged for Killing cousin
Rapper Silento who shot to fame in 2015 with his single hit Watch Me has been arrested and charged with the killing of his cousin. Silento whose real name is Ricky Hawk was arrested by the DeKalb County Police Department on the 1st of February 2021, after his cousin Frederick Rooks, was found shot dead on 21 January.
Silento had a hit with his single Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) in 2015, which reached No.3 in America and No.19 in the UK. The 23-year-old rapper is currently being held in DeKalb County Jail and is charged with murder. According to XXL magazine, the 34-year-old victim Frederick Rooks was found bleeding heavily after suffering gunshot wounds to his face and leg in a suburb of Georgia, US.
Shortly before his arrest, Silento had shared a request on his Instagram story inviting his 494,000 followers to send him money via CashApp for “selfies, videos, and shoutouts”. However, Silento’s management is yet to issue a statement has regarded the murder charge against Rapper Silento
Silento whose one-hit-wonder Watch Me shot him to fame in 2015, with the video having more than 1.7 billion views on YouTube. The rapper has been releasing music ever since – and his most recent release, Swish, was released on 28 January 2021. Silento was arrested twice in 2020 – one after an incident with a hatchet and another on driving charges, according to US gossip site, TMZ.
