Politics: Waiver of Nomination Fee for U-35 Youths – Adenegan Enigbokan hails PDP
Adenegan Enigbokan, the coordinator of National Youth Vanguard in ward 12, Abeokuta South Local Government hails the Peoples Democrat Party, PDP for the introduction of waiver of nomination fee for under 35 years old Nigerian youths seeking elective positions under the PDP Platform.
“Nigerian youths should embrace the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP following the announcement that the major opposition party in Nigeria will no longer collect nomination fee from any youth below the age of 35 years vying for elective post under the PDP platform”
” The People Democratic Party continue to lead the pack when it comes to youths inclusiveness and participation in politics in Nigeria today and it is advisable that Nigerian youths reciprocate the good gesture by joining the party so as to be able to contribute their quota to the development of Nigeria”, says Adenegan Enigbokan while reacting to the latest development in the umbrella party.
The decision to waive the payment of nomination fee for under 35 years old youths vying for elective positions under the PDP platform among other decisions were reached during a two-day conference held in Abuja with PDP youth leaders across the six geo-political zones and the 36 states in Nigeria present.
Other decisions reached during the conference include the backing of the decision to give 35% of the positions in the party to female members of the party, the readiness to commence the first of its kind electronic membership registration of youths into the umbrella party through the Directorate of youths in the party.
During the 2-day conference, the youth wing of the people also condemned the rising cases of insecurity across Nigeria and the lack of youth involvement actively in the APC’s ongoing administration.
