“Ploy to Stop Another #EndSARS Protest” – Reactions as FG lowers the price of petrol.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit, otherwise known as Petrol, for Nigeria.
With effect from December 14, the pump price for petrol was reduced from N168 to N162.44 per litre. Announced the Punch.
This was made known to the public by the Minister of Labour and Jobs, Dr. Chris Ngige, at a meeting with trade unions early on Tuesday.
According to the Minister, the new price will take effect on December 14, 2020.
Nigerians, however have responded differently to the federal government’s sudden reduction in the price of petrol pumps, some claiming that the reduction is a trick to deter young people from embarking on another #EndSARS protest that started yesterday.
See below for some responses.
What’s this your take on?
Is it true that the reduction is an effort to halt another protest by #endsars?
