PDP Primaries: Party Members/ Stakeholders Kick Against Fake Primaries For Eti-Osa Federal Constituency
The PDP in Eti Osa Federal Constituency is fighting a sham primary election in which Mr Olubankole Wellington (Banky W) was declared the winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency House of Reps seat.
According to allegations, one Mr Kazeem Akindele made a deliberate effort to pervert justice by crowning the musician the victor of the shammed primaries even when no elections have been officially held.
Party members and stakeholders have claimed that the primaries for the election have yet to take place in accordance with the norms and procedures established by the party’s National Working Committee. As of the time of writing this report, the Electoral Committee, led by Hon Abba Anas Adamu, had yet to hold the aforementioned primaries.
Members of the party have condemned a viral video in which Mr Kazeem Akindele acts as the returning officer for the House of Representatives primary and secretly declares Banky W the winner.
“As of date, no election has been held for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency; nevertheless, the party announced that primaries will be held on May 20, 2022.” The National Body dispatched an electoral committee to handle the primaries; on May 19, the committee members arrived and are still in Lagos to this day.
We are now startled that a viral video was conducted in which Banky W emerged as the party’s candidate; we are baffled as to how this crime against our against the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 was conducted.
It is stunning that while sensitive materials for the conduct of the election were being anticipated to begin the primaries, a phony election was held in order to continue their nefarious behavior.
“The general public should dismiss the fraudulent elections that were never held under the observation of INEC officials and the designated body from our great party’s national headquarters,” a top Party chieftain at Eti-Osa claimed.
There were numerous abnormalities observed with the viral video, including the fact that it was put on a bogus Twitter account that is neither a recognized organization from the party nor any controlled body. There has been no official declaration from the PDP saying that primaries were held.
This is a developing story as more details to follow.
