Panic In Osun State As A Cocoa Merchant Committed Suicide
The rates that suicide death is increasing in Nigeria is quite alarming, and it’s difficult to know what was really behind such a horrendous act.
Just about four days ago a certain man named Olawale Festus had taken his own life at Gbongan; a town in Osun state.
According to the Punch newspaper of 17th of August, 2020, the said man is a cocoa merchant, who committed the act after is daily activities, it was gathered that the man has locked himself up in one of the inner room in his store around 8 p.m. and committed the sad act.
The Punch newspaper reported thus: “It was gathered that the deceased, a businessman dealing in cocoa, took his life by hanging himself in one of the rooms in his cocoa store located at Oke Ola area of the town on Friday.
The incident, which happened around 8 pm, created panic in the area when the corpse was discovered in the room.
The suicide deaths are getting rampant and Nigeria government needs to do something to curb it. There is a point I want all Nigerians to know all this suicide might not be intentional it might be a gimmick by some killers in that community, so why can’t we conduct an autopsy to know the real source of the death.
There are some reasons attached to this, in April 2020, a certain couple had conspired to kill a young girl named Joy Okon in Surulere, Lagos.
Prior to the demise of the young Joy, she had worked the couple as their maid, after they killed the girl during excessive torture, they arranged a rope and hanged her towards the ceiling and proclaimed that she killed herself but it was through the autopsy that the real death of the young girl was revealed.
Hence, the Nigerian government should endeavour to start conducting an autopsy on all people who were said to have commits suicide, if not some killers will proceed to kill people on the guise that they took their lives themselves.
