Oyetola, Aregbesola bicker over call for Osun APC restructuring, #Oyetola #Aregbesola #bicker #call #Osun #APC #restructuring Welcome to 50MIND S BLOG, This is the most recent breaking news and trending broadcast that we have for you today: :
LOYALISTS of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State and his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, yesterday, traded tackles over the latter’s demand for the restructuring of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
In respond to the just concluded governorship election, Ogbeni Aregbesola’s party members launched a nonviolent demonstration in the state calling for his ouster.
They carried placards that read, among other things, “Osun APC Needs Restructuring, Famodun Must Go, Save Osun APC From Total Collapse, Sack Famodun, Aregbesola Is The Soul Of APC/Progressive Politics In Osun, There Is No Life In Osun APC Again, 2023: Asiwaju May Lose Osun With Famodun As APC Chairman.”
Abosede Oluwaseun, the protestors’ leader, told reporters at the House of Assembly complex that the party needs to be reorganized at the unit, ward, local government, and state levels in order for it to be strong and united in time for the upcoming general elections.
“With conscientious, serious, and objective study of the governorship election results, we found that the electoral defeat is not only self-induced by the party’s administration, but it also represents party concerns that had been brought up by concerned minds recently,” Oluwaseun added.
As concerned progressives, we felt the need to inform you that it is not safe to approach the 2023 general elections with the same paper-tiger party under the leadership of Prince Gboyega Famodun, the State Chairman of the APC in Osun State. “The party issues, which are unattended to to this point, regrettably cost our party the electoral victory.
Shameful and heartless protest—APC chairman
But in respond to that, the APC chairman called the demonstration and demand “shameful, heartless, and evil” in a statement released by his media assistant, Kola Olabisi.
According to the statement, “The protest was humiliating, callous, primitive, selfish, wicked, wrong and thoughtless for the Aregbesola supporters to now be soliciting restructuring of the party through a sponsored demonstration. They openly worked against the success of Governor Oyetola at the polls.
Assuming, but not denying, that there are problems within the party, protesters should be informed that they lack the moral authority to suggest or implement any likely solutions because it is known that they mobilized heavily and collectively to defeat Oyetola, the APC governorship candidate, in the recently held election in response to their threats.
“One would have assumed that Senator Ademola Adeleke’s rural home in Ede, who they proudly voted for, would be the proper location for them to canvass for the restructuring of any party.
“Permit me to ask, when did it occur to you that the political party you had worked against for approximately three years and abandoned needed restructuring?
Speaker promises to take action,
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr. Timothy Owoeye, addressed the demonstrators and reassured the party members that the required actions would be taken to make the party strong and unified.
In order for our party to remain together and powerful and to continue to reign and win elections in the future, Owoeye said: “I want to guarantee you of a fact that every required measure to be taken will be taken. According to Vanguard report.
