Other Yoruba Governors Should Send Fulani Herdsmen Away In Their Community Just As Akeredolu Have Done, For These Reasons
Just yesterday I watched the interview video of a man that was abducted along Kwara Other Yoruba Governors Should Send Fulani Herdsmen Away In Their Community Just As Akeredolu Have Done, For These Reasons.
This man was abducted on Friday 15th of January, 2021, but regain his freedom two days later after his people had paid a ransom of #1 million.
According to the man, he said he was abducted by some herdsmen who were a mixture of the northerners.
After I finished with the video, I watched another one that happened at Oyo where a certain Amotekun leader with the name Sunday Igboho led some other members of the Amotekun to attack some herdsmen who were said to be kidnappers at a place called Gangan in Oyo State.
On hearing this development some people had been criticizing Sunday Igboho’s actions while many extolled him for his profound valor.
However, all these places where the dastardly act occurred are Yoruba lands, this implies that it’s sojourners who have come from far places that are terrorizing the indigenes.
Moreover, that is why the Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has declared lately that all herdsmen should vacate the forest of his state.
To me what Akeredolu declared is the utmost remedy to the menace of these herdsmen and it will be better for other Yoruba states to emulate such decision before they resume in their state.
More so, if we can reminisce that they were once banned at Ekiti state during the era of Ayodele Fayose, and throughout his tenure, no single activities of the herdsmen were recorded, thus drastic action is what befits them, and such drastic action was what people of Akwa Ibom state embarks on when they became threats to their community.
In conclusion, other states must act fast to stop their menacing threats with the declaration that if any herders are apprehended in their state, he will be severely dealt with.
