Opinion: Is God A Christian Or A Muslim? Which Religion Does God Support? The term religion is so complex that no one can fully define all its features.
We all grew to understand that God exists and is the creator of heaven and earth and all things in it. These are the basic facts about all religions on earth, but we have deviated from the main teachings about religion; we have been using religion as a tool to create animosities between ourselves.
We have forgotten that no matter the religion we practice, we all worship one God, but in diversities.
Today in Nigeria, we have been using religion to cause dichotomy in our midst. In this article, I want to pinpoint that both the Christians and Muslims are one; their two books have an Identical story; in the Bible, you’ll get to read about Moses; the same story of Moses is in the Quran without a difference.
The same goes for Jesus Christ and other prophets; you will find their stories in the two books.
As a result, God supported all religions because each religion is a channel to reach God.
The place where we have differences in our beliefs that we have altered about God, we have thought God is different, just because of our languages, we believe in our hearts that if any other person did not worship God in our way and manner, such a person is an atheist.
In this context, we have invited anarchy and acute criticisms of other religions, thus creating numerous hostilities that have resulted in formidable sectarian violence because we have believed that our religion is better and superior to others.
It’s high time we all wake up from our slumber and stop all our criticism and know today that we are one; for instance, Christianity means light, which is synonymous with peace, whereas Islam is a religion of peace; now, what is the differences?
We must know another fact, which stipulated that God is neither a Christian nor Muslim; let’s ponder on this before Christianity and Islam are both brought to Nigeria; what religion do our forefathers were practicing?
Those our predecessors who have died before the advent of Christianity and Islamic religion in Nigeria, will they be condemned to perdition?
That is why no one can fight for God because no one has ever seen God; hence I want you to know that Allah is the same meaning as God, but we are confused by languages.
In the Arabic speaking countries, the Arabs, both the Christians and Muslims, called God “Allah” this means it’s their language; thus, Allah is not restricted to a particular religion but a language.
This same thing happened to Nigerian Languages; for instance, both the Christians and Muslims Yorubas called God ” Oluwa”; hence we should not allow our languages to create differences, we must not allow religion to cause hostilities in our midst again, we should learn to live together as one because we are calling the same God.
