OPERATION TURA TAKAI BANGO: Nigeria Army New Offensive Against Boko Haram, ISWAP
Boko Haram and the ISWAP terrorist would have no option than to lay down their arms and surrender to the Nigeria Army, following a renewed offensive that has been launched by the Military. The new operation code-named “Operation Tura Takai Bango”, is part of the counter-insurgency “Operation lafiya Dole”
The Nigeria Army high command has declared that 2021 would see the end of the Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorist would have terrorized people of the Northeast for the past 10 years. In what seems like the final onslaught against the Jihadist, the Nigeria Army has deployed more additional troops, armed with combat motorcycles, self-propelled artillery, and armored vehicles.
The newly acquired vehicles such as the ST-1 fire support vehicle and the SH5 self-propelled artillery would also be deployed during the “Operation Tura Takai Bango”. However, it is unclear if the Nigeria army would also deploy the newly acquired main battle tank the VT4.
“Operation Tura Takai Bango” is the first major operation against the insurgency for the year 2021, and it has commenced on the 3rd of January. The operation would focus on Boko Haram and ISWAP enclaves. The Nigeria Airforce is also a large part of “Operation Tura Takai Bango”, and it has carried out series of bombardments on various Boko Haram and ISWAP enclaves in the Sambisa forest, Alagarno forest, and around the area known as the Timbuktu triangle.
