Ooni Of Ife Warned Sunday Igboho, See What He Said That Sparked Different Reactions Online.
The Ooni Of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Enitan Ojaja II, has sent a warning to Chief Sunday Igboho over the ongoing crisis in Oyo State. The king said Igboho shouldn’t take laws into his hands.
The monarch said it is time for Sunday Igboho to relax and give room for constituted authority to act. He said it is good that Sunday Igboho speaks on behalf of the people, however, he should allow Governor Seyi Makinde to take control of the situation in Oyo State.
Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi said Sunday Igboho has been the mouthpiece for the people, however, politicians will soon take over the struggle from him if he continues to take laws into his hands.
He added that Igboho has done well and the world has heard him, but everything should be done in moderation.
Ooni Of Ife said this during a program on Arise Tv on Wednesday. The TV program came a day after Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi visited President Muhammad buhari at Aso Rock over the ongoing ethnic crisis in Oyo and Ondo States.
Sunday Igboho had earlier issued seven days ultimatum to Fulani people living in Ibarapa to vacate the area over kidnapping, banditry, and killings been carried out by suspected herdsmen in the area. He later stormed the area after the seven days ultimatum expired. The house of Seriki Fulani was set ablaze by an angry mob. A few days after, Sunday Igboho’s house in Ibadan was also set ablaze by unknown arsonists.
The issue has degenerated serious tension in the last few days.
