NYSC Batch B Stream IA Orientation Camp Postponed
NYSC Batch B Stream IA orientation camp has been postponed following the ongoing protest and violence that is going on in the country.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) announced that the orientation camp which was supposed to start on the 10th of November 2020 has now been postponed to the 30th of November 2020. Aspiring corps members for the 2020 Batch B stream IA orientation camp are advised to take note of the new date.
For two weeks now, there have been ongoing protests across the country following demands that the Police force should be reformed and a unit of the police SARS should be disbanded. In recent days the protest has grown into open violence and riots across the country with large numbers of protesters already killed.
The ongoing protest, violence, and riots have drawn the attention of the international community following the attack of peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll-gate of Lagos state by what the government has tagged unknown soldiers.
The NYSC orientation is approximately 3 weeks program when young graduates are expected to spend in a military-controlled camp away from family and friends. NYSC camps are situated across the 36 states of the federation. At the end of the 3 weeks, there is also a passing out the ceremony and corps members are posted to their Primary Place of Assignment (PPA). They are expected to work as full-time staff at their PPA with exception of one working day devoted to the execution of community development service.
