NNPC Appointment: Letter of appointment surfaces online despite buhari’s aide denial
The letter confirming the appointment of President Muhammadu buhari’s aide, Ahmad Bashir as the project manager/ supervisor of the National Production, Monitoring System (NPMS) in the downstream monitoring and regulatory department of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) surfaces online today.
Bashir Ahmad, an aide to the President buhari on new media vigorously denied knowledge of any appointment into the juicy petroleum ministry and also vowed to sue the news publication that breaks the news yesterday.
Less than 24 hours after his denial, a govt document confirming his appointment into the ministry of petroleum and the amount he will be paid monthly as the statutory salary was revealed in the appointment letter.
Bashir Ahmad, who is yet to officially resign his role as the president’s aide on new media will now be drawing a double salary as a civil servant/public servant.

The appointment of the Bayero University graduate into the new role is unsettling the ruling APC youth wing with some members kicking against the unmerited appointment.
Bashir is not the first close aide of President Muhammadu buhari to get appointed into a juicy federal government agency through the backdoor as Sabiu Tunde, the president PA was recently appointed as an Assistant Director in the National Intelligence Agency.
