Nigeria Medical Association Election turns violent in Enugu, becomes free for all fight.

While it is easy for Nigerians to attributes carried such as electoral violence to non-professional bodies and political parties, the debacle to ensued in Enugu proved otherwise.
The chairmanship election of the Nigeria medical association Enugu state branch turned violent as doctors were involved in activities unbecoming of the noble profession.
Weapons, chairs, and tables were used at will. This goes to show that the association is no longer about the common interest of the Nigerian doctors rather it has become a self-interest seeking body.
However, going by report there is a court injunction restraining the August 6, 2020 Election of the Enugu branch of the professional medical body.
In suit file at the Enugu Magistrate Court Agbogugu, by the Association of Resident Doctors Enuge led by Dr. Bonaventure Nwachukuw and Dr. Emmanuel Chuma Edoga, against the returning officer and other members of the electoral committees of NMA.
The counsel to the association of resident doctor J.U. Ugwoke Esq, ask the court to grant an interim injunction restraining the respondents from continuing with the August 6, the election of the Nigeria medical association election in Enugu.
Violence ensued when the respondents decided to continue with election as against the court order.
