New Service Chiefs take office As President Muhammadu buhari Sack Military Chiefs
President Muhammadu buhari has finally bowed to pressure and relieved military chiefs of their duty. There has been called for the president to remove the Service chiefs following the rising spite of insecurity in the country. But the President has been adamant on their removal.
The removed military chiefs where appointed in 2015, after the Muhammadu buhari APC led administration took over from Goodluck Jonathan PDP administration.
I have accepted the immediate resignation of the Service Chiefs, and their retirement from service. I thank them all for their overwhelming achievements in our efforts at bringing enduring peace to Nigeria, and wish them well in their future endeavours.

New service chiefs as appointed by president Muhammadu buhari to replace the retired officers are :
Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff
Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff
Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff
Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.
The outgoing Service chiefs are:
Major-General Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin as Chief of Defence Staff
Lieutenant general Tukur Yusuf Buratai, Chief of Army Staff
Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar as Chief of Air Staff.
Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas as Chief of Naval Staff.
President Muhammadu buhari removal of the service chiefs has come on the heels of the growing call for the removal of the military chiefs going by the insecurity that has befall the country.
