New LPG Storage Facility To Save Nigeria N28bn Yearly, Set For Lunch
In keeping with the promise of making crude product available to Nigerians, President Muhammadu buhari’s administration is ensuring that various avenues that would help boast product availability are explored.
It is in this vein, that the Federal Government has completed the largest LPG storage facility in Subsaharan Africa in Benin City, the Edo state capital.
The LPG storage facility which would be commissioned and launched tomorrow would save Nigeria about N28bn yearly, previously used in the importation of cooking gas. The plant which will be launched tomorrow, would cut 260,000 metric tonnes of LPG imports from the USA, and create a lot of jobs for Nigerians.
Nigeria is already producing about 5 million metric tonnes of LPG, 90% of which is exported because of lack of storage facilities like this, such as LPG Jetties and other relevant infrastructure.
