Nancy Pelosi Office Looted By Pro-Trump Supporters; See Missing Items
The House of the Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other members of Congress had their offices looted during the last week’s Wednesday invasion of the Capitol Building in Washington, DC by pro-Trump supporters.
The rioters broke into the Capitol building during the Wednesday riot, loot in and destroying properties from the Congress building. According to reports, laptops from the offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Jeff Merkley, where among other electronics stolen.
An aide to Nancy Pelosi revealed that a laptop was stolen from her office, has rioters run amok during their hours-long siege of the capitol building. Sen. Jeff Merkley, tweeted a video of his trashed office after the raid, saying a laptop that was sitting on the conference table was gone.
In the video, he said “They stole the laptop that was sitting on the table next to the telephone,”
DC’s acting US Attorney Michael Sherwin on Thursday told reporters that several items were stolen Wednesday, raising concerns for “national security equities.”
Pro-Trump supporters also left a note on Nancy Pelosi’s desk, the note reads “We will not back down.”
Authorities have started a search for the recovery of the stolen items and several arrests have been made but according to DC’s acting US Attorney Michael Sherwin,
“This is probably going to take several days to find out exactly what happened, what was stolen, what wasn’t,”
But he revealed that electronic items were stolen from senators’ offices including the laptop from Nancy Pelosi office. Documents, materials were also stolen, and we have to identify what was done, and mitigate that.”
