My Igbo Brothers These Are What You Will Miss Out If Biafra Is Achieve. If you are looking for the tribe that travel out of their land more than any other ethnic groups and own property and business more than the other ethnic groups in Nigeria, I think they are the Igbos.
There is no doubt about that, no other ethnic group can surpass the Igbos in terms of establishing a business and erecting it from a small scale to a massive venture in Nigeria, just as there is no other tribe that perfect the rearing of animals like the Fulanis.
Ironically, and in spite of all these positives, one still finds many Igbo people agitating to have an independent state of theirs. This looks like solipsism and such norm does not befit such a vast race like the Igbos.
It is even worsened to know that millions of the Igbo people were killed during the intertribal war that occurred between 1967 and 1970 when they craved to have a country of their own called Biafra.
So, why do they embarked on a project that seems not to be in their favour in many ways?
For instance, let’s look at some places in Lagos state, places like Ladipo, PWD, and Alaba market; these places are dominated by the Igbos who are specialist of motor parts and electronics.
If you go to Alaba market to purchase electronic, you will be willing to buy from an Igbo man because you’ll believe they are good in such field, likewise, Ladipo where you go for motor spare parts.
Additionally, out of 100% chemist shop, you’ll find in Lagos state, 90% are owned by the Igbo because we believed they are specialists in the field just as we go to the Fulani and Hausa people for delectable suya.
Apart from all these aforementioned fields, talking about clothes and footwears the Igbos knows about it, they are good merchants in the business of generators, just name any type of businesses, even phone business and refrigerators, and they all know that their main location for the selling of all these goods is Lagos state, which is far to their land.
I remember vividly when Ojukwu died, all our Igbo brothers travelled down to the east, and the entire Lagosians felt it, is that not enough for the Igbos?
So, why the clamour for secession, they forget that if their plan worked they will be living as an alien in Lagos state and any other southwestern places, where their goods are more purchased.
Furthermore, I will like them to understand that all their houses and factories in the Southwest and even the Northern parts of Nigeria are existing because of the unity that binds us all together, once we resolve to part ways there will never be those relations again.
Moreover, most of us that as been to the Eastern states, we have seen that most Eastern states are still under development, thus when will all these states be developed?
That’s why we need to come together and build Nigeria together, we don’t need to digress from the fact that we need unity to excel.
If we all support ourselves, all our business will continue to thrive, especially that of the Igbos because they are known for their area of specialization in Lagos state and any other part of Nigeria.
