Meet Jasmine Harrison Youngest Woman to Complete a Solo Row Across the Atlantic Ocean
Jasmine Harrison from North Yorkshire, UK, has become the youngest woman to complete a solo row across the Atlantic Ocean. The 21-year-old British-born rower completed the journey in 70 days, 3 hours, and 48 minutes.
Jasmine Harrison has set a new record as she completed the 2020 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge on Saturday. She rowed solo across the Atlantic Ocean after completing a 3,000-mile (4,800-kilometer) journey from Spain to Antigua, according to the organizer of the Atlantic Campaigns.
Jasmine Harrison said she had a new collision along the way with a drilling ship and two other capsize ships. Jasmine who said she was motivated by a lot of factors hopes to bring inspiration to young people that it is okay to go alone at things. She capsized two days before crossing the finishing line and injured her elbow.
Ms. Jasmine Harrison, a part-time swimming teacher, and bartender decided to sign up for the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge three years ago after watching the finale of the 2017 rowing event.
