Manchester City Close down Training Ground; Game With Everton Postponed
Manchester city has closed down it training ground and its game against Everton at Goodson Park at 8pm tonight has been postponed due to rising case of Covid19 infection amongst Manchester City first team squad and it club staff.
A new date has not been announced for the English premier league game between Everton and Manchester City. The postponement of today game is due to the rising cases of covid19 amongst players and club staffs.
On Christmas day, Manchester city defender Kyle walker and Manchester’s City Forward Gabriel Jesus, along with other two members of the Manchester city staff members tested positive to the Covidd19 and have entered into self-isolation. Manchester City, have today reported new cases of infection within its squad and staff members which led to the postponement of tonight game.
The club has also reveal that it will close down its first team training ground for an “indeterminate period”. This was contained in a statement made available by the club.
“After the latest round of COVID-19 testing, the club returned a number of positive cases, in addition to the four already reported on Christmas Day.”
“With the security of the bubble compromised, there posed a risk that the virus could spread further amongst the squad, the staff and potentially beyond.
“Based on strong medical advice the Premier League, in consultation with both clubs, have decided to postpone the fixture.”
The postponement of tonight game between Everton and Manchester city could mean that the English premier league 2020/2021 season might be heading for suspension following the rising case of Covid19 cases in England, until vaccination is done.
