Liverpool set to defend their premier league title with a home game against Leeds city.
As the new premier league season schedule to begin on the weekend of September 12th.
The English premier league champion Liverpool would immediately see action, while Manchester City and Manchester United won’t be involved in the opening games of the weekend due to their European Competition as clubs are entitled to a 30-day break between seasons.
Liverpool would face their first opponent of the season in a bid to defend their title to leed city the newly-promoted side to the English premier league on the 12th of September at Anfield.
The English giant would play their second match of the season facing Chelsea in an away game at Stanford Bridge on the 19th of September.
Liverpool third game of the season would be another against another London giant Arsenal on the 26 of September at Anfield. On October 3rd Liverpool would face Aston Villa in an away game and Everton in another away game on the 17th of October.
Fulham, who won the Championship play-off final, is to host Arsenal at Craven Cottage on the opening weekend.
The other promoted club, West Bromwich Albion, will welcome Leicester City to the Hawthorns for matchday one.
In the other games on the opening weekend, Tottenham Hotspur will play Everton, Crystal Palace will take on Southampton, Chelsea will go to Brighton, West Ham are up against Newcastle United and Sheffield United will play Wolverhampton.
The season will end on May 23rd, 2021 and there will be no winter break due to the later start because of the pandemic.
Liverpool would commence their 2020/ 2021 football season with a community shield game against the FA cup winner Arsenal on August 29.
