LeBron James checked the stat sheet as he left the Staples Center court after his latest high-scoring Christmas victory, he realized the Lakers had scored 138 points with a mere 22 from him.
LeBron James moved into second place behind Kobe Bryant for the most points scored on Christmas, passing Oscar Robertson in the third quarter. James has 383 points in 15 games on Christmas, while Bryant had 395 in 16 holiday appearances.
LeBron James shared his thoughts on his playing time for the Los Angeles Lakers this season.
“I think it’s a conspiracy in this league, about my minutes having to be looked at and everyone just follows the track. No, I’m just I’m just messing around. Listen, whatever coach and the coaching staff or the players, I’m ready to do whatever. If Coach wants to limit my minutes earlier in the season, he can do that. If he wants to play me some games, with the high minutes, I can do that too. I’ll train my body for whatever. I’m not your typical guy that’s in his 18th season. I try to show it to you guys over and over and over. I mean when I was in year 13, they were saying the same thing, in the year 14, limit the minutes of yours, 15, 16. So it was the same story for me, but for me personally, I train my body for a marathon, I train my body for whatever. Whatever the game today has in store, I’m ready for that. So I learnt from my mom and I learnt it from some OGs growing up. OGs, for you Davidde, is original gangsters. I know you guys got to have a lot of those, I know that for sure, I’m a big mob guy. So they say if you stay ready, you never got to get ready. So that’s what I believe in and that’s what I strive for.”
LeBron James said he ‘train his body for a marathon’ and always tries to ‘stay ready’.
James spent 31 minutes on the floor against the Dallas Mavericks and flirted with the triple-double (22 points, 8/18 shooting), seven rebounds and 10 assists. The Lakers (1-1) earned the 115-138 victory over the Mavs (0-2) on Christmas Day.
LeBron James sees a lot of himself in Luka Doncic.
The Lakers superstar has said as much on multiple occasions since Doncic entered the NBA in 2018 with the Mavericks.
James and Doncic will forever sit in the record books as two of the most impressive teenagers in league history. Of course, James, 35, has added onto those impressive early seasons with championships and MVP awards.

James said he is happy to play alongside Harrell and Schroder, as they are ‘straight up competitors’ and push their teammates to elevate their game.
I look forward to our dynamic and our growth on the floor and continue to grow as the season goes on. I am looking forward to tomorrow. Every game, every minutes we are on the floor, we will continue to grow,” James said, per Alex Regla, via Lakers Daily.
