Lagos State Govt Empowers 2,252 Youths With Vocational Skills to Alleviate Out of Poverty.
Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu, today attended the Graduation Ceremony of 2,252 students from 18 Skill Acquisition Centers across the State, held at the Isheri Skill Acquisition Center Hall, Opposite Berger Bus Stop.
The vocational training was coordinated under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
The Special Assistant to Governor Sanwo Olu on New Media, Gawat Jubril, disclosed this on his Twitter handle on Wednesday afternoon.
Some of the skills acquired in the training include Shoe Making, Fashion Designing, Catering, and many others.
Governor Sanwo Olu also rewarded the best among the graduating students with valuable gifts.
The vocational training has been on in Lagos State since the time of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola. Thousands of youths have benefited from the program.
There are 18 vocational training centers across the state and everyone can apply for a skill provided that he or she meets the requirements.
This is a beautiful initiative from the Lagos State Government, the capacity of the program should be extended to accommodate more youths. The other Nigerian States should also emulate Lagos State Government by setting up similar initiatives.
