Lagos State extend markets opening and closing hours for both food markets and non-food markets.
In a statement signed by the commissioner for local government and community affairs, Dr. Wale Ahmed, the decision of the Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu is to further enhance trade and commerce and mitigate the hardship of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Ahmed emphasized that the alternate days of operations still remain in force whereby food markets open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, while non-food markets open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
He made it known that Lagos state extend markets opening and closing hours, as markets are now to open at 8 am and close at 6 pm.
He urged all traders to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols for their safety and the citizenry at large.
The previous markets opening hours of 9 am to 3 pm, introduced by the Lagos state government due to the Coronavirus pandemic has really caused hardship on Lagosian who find it hard to meet up to the time frame.
