According to Kuwait times, In order to reduce the number of traffic rules violators, Kuwait Government increases Fine and jail term for traffic violators.
Fine and Jail terms as proposed by Kuwait Governments
The fine has been increased to 200-500 dinars ($654-1635) for offenses like driving roughly, driving without a plate number and speeding. in addition to that, a jail term of 3 months was also added.
According to the proposed law, any driver who allows a child under the age of 10 to sit in the front seat will pay a fine of 100-200 dinars and will also serve a jail of 2 months.
The same punishment which applies to a driver who allows a child under the age of 10 to seat in the front sit also applies to a driver who lends his car to someone else to use without a driving license, driving with bad brakes and more.
A one-month jail term and a 50-100 dinar fine has been proposed for those that stop vehicles in highways, drive or park on pavements, use high-beam lights, use loudspeakers, among other violations, the paper added.
The new changes will be reviewed by Kuwait national assembly and will be put into place in November which is their general election.
