Killings: Violent protest breakout in Katsina, Buhari, Masari’s Billboard set on fire
Angry residents of Yantumaki, Katsina State, home state of President Muhammadu Buhari are protesting violently against the unabated killings across the state and other Northwest states by bandits.
Katsina, Kaduna and Sokoto states are under bandits attack in recent times with scores of killings and homes razed.
The protesters set Muhammadu buhari and Masari billboard on fire as the protest is becoming violent.
The razed billboard has the inscription “The Faces of Fairness and Champions of the masses” to describe the two public servants.
Bandits are breaking the ceasefire agreement reached with Katsina state sometime last year.
The bandits are now in full force in the state and it is extending to other neighbouring States.
Meanwhile, President buhari assures of stiff measures against insecurity when he met Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal last week.
Apart from Katsina, Sokoto is another state seriously facing banditry challenge.
The current state of insecurity in Katsina, the home state of the president only shows the state of worsening insecurity in the country.
Nigeria is battling insurgents in the Northeast and now banditry and kidnapping in Northwest which is stretching the country security apparatchik.
