News emerging from the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, Claims that the total number of positive Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Africa has risen to a whopping 25,000 in the past 24 hours.

The health agency gave the report on its official Twitter account, @WHOAFRO, on Thursday. The tweet read;

“Over 25,000 #COVID19 cases reported on the African continent – with over 6,700 associated recoveries & 1,200 deaths”.

On the dashboard, South Africa, Egypt, and Morocco continue to top the list of countries with highest cases in Africa.

Recall, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that another 91 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number in the country to 873 as at Wednesday night.
