Insecurity: We’ll focus more on local intelligence, community policing -Osinbajo
In the aftermath of the killings of more than 40 rice farmers in Borno state ,Prof. Yemi Osinbajo reveals that the current administration will focus more on local intelligence gathering and community policing in the administration’s bid to curb insecurity.
Prof.Yemi Osinbajo made the statement while reacting to the beheading of the rice farmers last week by Boko Haram insurgents in Zabarmari.
The Vice-President reinstates the administration preparedness for the continual review of the conventional means to deal with security challenges in Nigeria.
The killings of the rice farmers in Jere Local Government, just 20KM away from Maiduguri; Borno State capital is the worst killings in recent time from the hostile northeast.
Borno state remain the hotbed of Boko Haram insurgents as insecurity has now spread to most states in northeast and some states in the northwest region.
The insecurity has become so bad that northeast governors are calling on President Muhammadu buhari and the federal government to hire the service of mercenary soldiers to help in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.
